1) Those that children can do on their own

2) Those that will require an adult to open the account

You'll also notice that we have identified two types of investments ­Lender Investments and Owner Investments. With Lender Investments you are "lending" your money to an institution with the promise of getting back, with interest, after a set period of time. An Owner Investment gives you the opportunity to become an owner of property, common stock or mutual funds.
